Two New Restaurants Will Open Downtown Early 2017
We are talking about two food parties, Taco Party and Dinner Party are coming to town!
The Grand Junction restaurants scene is looking up!
Downtown Grand Junction, south of Main St. on 5th St is a building being renovated and turned into two new restaurants. The building owners, Josh and Jodi Niernberg are the owners of another successful Downtown restaurant, Bin 707 Foodbar. Bin 707 Foodbar is well known for its creative menu, dynamic food presentations and of course, really good food!
The Niernberg’s philosophy is “Grand Junction is the heart of Colorado’s Grand valley- a fertile oasis in the desert. We are surrounded by agriculture- whether its farms, orchards, or wineries- allowing us to develop strong relationships to our ingredients and our suppliers”.
Restaurant #1 will be “Taco Party”, a 50 seat restaurant that will feature computers for self-ordering a rotating menu of six kinds of tacos, two appetizers, two salads and six taps for beer and wine. Diners can savor soft-serve ice cream in flavors like roasted beet and sweet corn. Patrons can sit and interact with chef’s while sitting on a bar at the kitchen. In warmer weather the new windows will roll up like a garage door offering diners peek-a-boo access onto the street. The restaurant is expected to open by late February or March.
Restaurant #2 will be “Dinner Party”, also a 50 seat restaurant. The restaurant will be used as a private dining space and may feature guest chefs to work with local foods, wine tastings, art shows and other events. Niernberg said possibly within the next two years, Dinner Party will open to the public as fine dining, “the upper echelon of Bin” with the focus on five-to six-course meals and possibly ticketed events.
Besides filling a need for more quality Grand Junction restaurants, the three restaurants will be a major tax source for Downtown.
